The most common mistake with a shower enclosure is trying to fit the bathroom to an off-the-shelf cabin. Most bathrooms are not truly square; the walls are out by a few centimetres. A ready-made cabin does not forgive that, and water finds its way through the gap. A made-to-measure shower cabin costs a little more and saves you the leak.
On frameless cabins we use 8 or 10 mm toughened glass. Six millimetre is sold too, and we do not recommend it; it works loose at the hinge points over time. As the glass gets thicker the hinges have to get stronger, and the two are calculated together.
The real cause of leaks is not the glass, it is the fall. If the tray or the floor does not slope properly toward the drain, the best seal in the world will not save it. We check the floor before installation day and, where needed, say the fall gets corrected first and the cabin comes after.
Nano coating reduces limescale marks, it does not eliminate them. Bodrum water is hard; even with the coating you need a squeegee once a week. We would rather not oversell it.
